ebbystouch  > Ministry > Journey Nigeria
The photos in this gallery represent a part of our journey to Nigeria. My prayer is that your heart will be touched and you will be invoked to pray, sow and even plan to come with us as we make other mission trips. I have received many comments from viewers and encourage each of you to know that we are a blessed people with so much to be thankful for... if only we had the tenacity for the things of God ...if only we sought Him even in our discomfort which pales in comparison..... IF ONLY!

ebbystouch > The photos in this gallery do not fully tell the story of our Journey to Nigeria yet they allow you to get an idea of the magnitude of our blessings. Enjoy the gallery! I will have additional updates for supporters and friends of the ministry.
ebbystouch > 9 hours from DFW to Amsterdam, then 6 hours from Amsterdam to Lagos, Nigeria and 1.5 hours to Calabar, Nigeria and 3 hours land travel from Calabar to Ikom. Our main flight was KLM and the flight from Lagos to Calabar was with Virgin Nigeria Airlines. Our travel coordinator was Marc Hostetler of MTS Travel. Marc gave us good advice and did an outstanding job with arrangements.
ebbystouch > This is the banner posted at the entrance to the village where we were ministering. Notice the thatched roof house in the background. This is the typical type of home of those that live in the village.
ebbystouch > Me @ Marriott. The hotel is $50 per night which converts to 6,000 naira (Nigerian currency)The room had air conditioning which worked one night of our visit it also had a telephone. It had a small TV which featured Nigerian soap opera and other local shows. We could get one station.
ebbystouch > Elathia in our room in Marriot. The climate is humid most of the time. When the air in the room was not working which was 95% of our stay the running water was also not available (I don't know how they connected but they did). We take so much for granted as we live in air conditioned homes and have running water available daily!
ebbystouch > Our bathroom at Marriott Hotel in Lagos Nigeria. We stayed overnight here because flights from Lagos to Calabar go once daily and we arrived to late to catch a flight for that day.
ebbystouch > The room was most likely a suite. We were initially placed in another room but our host in Lagos requested we be moved to this room which had a refrigerator and chair. No cable, HDTV, flat screens or wi-fi here!
ebbystouch > No, this is not connected to the Marriot here in US. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the hotel and then taken back to the airport the next day to fly via Virgin Nigeria airlines to Calabar. All hotels are gated (like a gated community so to speak)
ebbystouch > Nothing exciting about a coke right? Although I don't drink much soda at home, I drank coke everyday several times per day. I did not drink water unless it was sealed. Most of the water I drank was bottled by Coca Cola in Nigeria and came to me sealed. I drank one pouch of "pure" water which is treated water. Coke comes in a glass bottle which I believe is recycled to be refilled by coca-Cola. I used a straw when drinking to avoid possible contact with any contaminated water.
